Hair Restoration

PRP is Platelet Rich Plasma, a concentrated blood plasma which contains a variety of growth factors and other proteins that aid in the healing process and in hair growth.

Human blood consists of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Platelets are important in the body’s ability to heal wounds because they coalesce in a wounded area, thus accelerating healing in that particular area. In a similar fashion, PRP’s effects on promoting hair growth make it useful for the medical treatment of hair loss – in many cases a safe and effective treatment option for male and female hair restoration.

At Oregon Aesthetics we use the Emcyte Pure II PRP system. This is a double-spin centrifuge technique that allows the active biologic factors of serum to be administered at the most effective concentration. This double processing ensures that an optimal concentration of growth factors in PRP can be achieved.

If PRP hair loss therapy is appropriate, we can begin your treatment at the time of your consultation. We will administer the next two treatments at ~6 week intervals. You will be asked to return at 6 months to assess your hair growth response. If you show improvement, then maintenance treatments can be administered as needed thereafter depending on your progress.

The treatments are administered by Dr. Bespaly himself with staff assistance For some patients, the injections may be uncomfortable. We offer local anesthesia prior to the injections which helps to reduce the discomfort. Patients are monitored with serial photographs to assess the benefits of therapy.
